Openhouse Magazine is a twice yearly publication, that looks to bright, creative people from around the world, that open their doors of their private spaces to the public, to make different activities about gastronomy, art and design.

Printed in San Sebastian, Openhouse is a magazine of 144 pages, filled with beautiful photography, interesting interviews of people who open special places around the world that the reader can visit and join in with the activities.

Openhouse is also a guide to their secret loved places in their towns, and some favourite recipes. Openhouse is a multi lingual publication; all articles are published in English and the language of the interviewee.

In the current issue, we talk about our own space, Openhouse in Barcelona. We visit Gnam Box who invite creative people into their home to cook their own recipes. Bless, whose Berlin shop is the home of Mira Shröder. In London we talk to Tony Horneker who opens his home as a restaurant and Jo Nagasaka who turns his Tokyo studio into anything from a gallery, performance space, or even sometimes a camp site, and makes the best food parties around.

Closer to home we visit Niki Robinson who opens her doors to guests with Airbnb and holds theatre events and concerts, and also Jacopo and Luis in the Costa Brave who use their weekend home, Palau de Casavells, as a gallery for art, design and antiques.

After one year of hard work, our magazine is nearly ready for print. So we have decided to go with crowdfunding to help us with the process of getting started, setting up the company, and printing the first issue.

We hope that you would like to help us, and be a part of our journey. Please take a look at our video and see the link to Kickstarter.

Openhouse was started by Andrew Trotter and Mari Luz Vidal, and we are building a small team of collaborators who are designers, writers and photographers from all around the world. We love to hear from new people who have interesting stories to tell about OpenSpaces from near and far, so please write to us here.

Andrew Trotter: Creative Director & editor.
Mari Luz Vidal: Creative Director, photo editor & photographer.
Nagore Garcia y Xabi Mtz. de Arbulo / TGA+ASOCIADOS: Graphic Design.

In the current issue we talk to Jermome Waag, head chef at Chez Panisse, about what he likes to cook at home for his friends in his time off.
In Barcelona we take a look at the warehouse space, Espacio 88, that holds an architecture studio, a coffee van in the mornings, and many different pop-ups. We take a peek into the Freunde von Freunden Apartment in Berlin, that takes shape as an office, event space and a cosy apartment for occasional overnight guests. In a small village in the italian countryside, Attillio and Paola live in the old Cinema Flora, and regularly open their doors for film nights. Then we immerse ourselves in the delights of Fez, and Tara Steven's courtyard cooking school, Dar Namir. Fem Güçlütürk, opens the doors to her home in Istanbul which is also a plant shop and laboratory, Labofem.
Back in Barcelona we discover a self made home school for Oihan and his friends. Amaryllis Jacobs has made her wonderful home in Brussels into a twice yearly gallery space, Maniera, for architect designed pieces. And to finish, we fly across the pond to visit the beautiful Glass House, the home of the architect, Philip Johnson.
